I discovered Makeup by Marlo at a preferred vendor event at our wedding venue. I met Marlo, the makeup artist, and Meghan, the hair stylist, and instantly was drawn to their kind personalities. I hired them for my original wedding date in January 2021, but with concerns over the pandemic, we opted to move our wedding up to October 2020 in order to have a safer and smaller event outdoors. Marlo and Meghan were flexible and happy to accommodate our new date on very short notice. On the day of our event, Marlo and Meghan adhered to all state mandated guidelines, with masks and sanitizers, to make sure everything was clean and safe. We felt very comfortable with their clear protocols, which they shared with us ahead of the event. Their work, both in hair and makeup, was beyond stunning. They did the hair and makeup for eight women and they were well-organized and timely; they finished right on schedule. Meghan was able to look at an inspiration photo one time and recreate the look flawlessly. She did braids for my nieces, up-dos with accessories, blow-outs, and more. She executed each style perfectly; it was extremely impressive. Marlo is a true makeup artist. Many of the women, myself included, do not wear a lot of makeup, so we fully trusted Marlo to create the perfect look. The makeup she used was lightweight and safe for sensitive skin. I have never felt more beautiful. AND THE LASHES...WOW! I wish I could have her do my makeup daily; she's a magician. I really can't recommend these women enough. I can’t rave more about Marlo as a person, as an esthetician, and as my make-up artist for my wedding. She was just perfect! As someone who has sensitive skin, especially on my face, and a specific vision for how I wanted my vision done, Marlo was just perfect. She listened to every detail and thought I had and took any feedback (although I didn’t have much) as a complete professional. I must have cried at least 3 times during my wedding morning just as she was tying to finish my makeup and the entire time , she was so patient, kind, understanding and even managed to make it look like I hadn’t cried at all - (not sure how she did that!!). Marlo is THE BEST!!! She is so incredibly talented and one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I was so lucky she was available for my wedding. We had a trial a few months before, which was super helpful, and my makeup turned out amazing! She is very good at listening, getting a feel for your style/vision, and bringing it to life. Marlo is really fantastic at what she does, my wedding makeup was absolutely stunning! I ended up doing something different on the day of my wedding from what I had initially done at my trial and she listened to the changes I wanted to make and executed them exactly the way that I pictured. She uses all high quality products and works very efficiently. All of my bridesmaids, my mother, mother-in-law and grandma all loved their makeup done by Marlo and Andrea. Marlo is amazing!!!! The best decision I made for my wedding. My sister used her for her wedding in 2014 and we both agreed we've never looked better, and I was so excited when I got engaged and Marlo was free for my wedding too. Makeup by Marlo was the perfect choice for my wedding! As someone who rarely wears more than a little mascara to work I was nervous about getting my makeup done professionally for the wedding. I wanted to look nice in photos, but I still wanted to look like myself. Marlo listened to me and understood my concerns and gave me a few different options during out first trial to see what I liked. She went with a very natural look while using her skills to accentuate my best features. The makeup she uses felt so light and natural I could barely feel it on my face which made it easier to relax and feel naturally beautiful. Marlo was also very professional. She arrived a few minutes early so she was set up and ready to go when our appointment began which took away some stress the morning of my wedding. I’ve had many people at the wedding compliment her work and I would absolutely recommend Marlo for any girl on her wedding day. Thank you Marlo!
I knew I wanted Marlo to do my makeup from the second I got engaged. I’ve been in many weddings and one of my best friends used her-- I’ve never felt prettier so I reached out immediately. Marlo was responsive and always communicated, effectively and efficiently. She had no problem traveling to Rhode Island and starting at 8 AM. She did 8 bridesmaids and my mom in 5 hours (with no issues)! Marlo is very calming and relaxing, and on a day with high anxiety, that is SO important. All of my bridesmaid said they have never felt prettier and everyone was thrilled with how they looked. She uses airbrush and lashes. Not one person looked like they had too much makeup on. Marlo highlighted my features perfectly and gave a natural look with some glam. She can do anything you want – she’s so talented. She took pictures of me during my trial and used that for reference. Six months before my wedding, I sent her an email asking how to improve my skin and recommended face products. She wrote me a lengthy email explaining tips, tricks, suggestions and best products. It was SO sweet and she didn’t have to do that! She truly cares about making you the most beautiful on your day and it is deeply appreciated. I would use Marlo 100X over again! Marlo is a very talented makeup artist. Her work is detailed yet still natural. When she’s done you look incredible but still comfortable and confident with your new enhanced look. She listens to your concerns and preferences and exceeds your expectations. She makes you feel so calm and at ease with her soft voice and gentile nature. By the time you are done in her chair you feel like you made a new friend. Makeup by Marlo was one of my best decisions for a wedding vendor. Marlo is so professional, punctual, and officiant. She did my bridal makeup as well as my bridal party, both of my mothers and grandmother. Everyone was stunningly beautiful and appropriate for my formal night wedding. Marlo was absolutely amazing. Her makeup, including airbrush, looks natural and enhances your natural beauty. All of my bridesmaids loved her and said she was the best makeup artists they had worked with at any wedding (a lot of weddings...). She came on site and had everything ready to go before we arrived. Did I mention how sweet she is--very important on your wedding day while you're nervous! Highly recommended! Marlo partnered with Meghan for hair, and they are the perfect pair. Meghan helped me select my bridal hair, and I ended up going with one of her suggestions. Marlo was such a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her! She was super accommodating, knowledgable and helpful from the minute I booked her all the way up until the wedding. I was having some pre-wedding stress related skin issues and she was more than happy to recommend some solutions and products after a quick phone consult. On the day of the wedding she arrived on time and completed my make up along with my mom's and sister's, and we all could not have been more pleased; she did a fantastic job. My mom very specifically wanted an understated/natural look while my sister wanted a more dramatic look. Marlo really listened to both of them and they got exactly what they asked for! Marlo is laid back and easy going while also being very professional. Can't say enough good things about her, highly recommend her!
Marlo is fantastic! She did my makeup for both my cousins wedding and my own and it looked beautiful. On my wedding day, she did my family's makeup and coordinated the timing perfectly, we were even able to get an extra person in. She was flexible and able to accommodate everyone's preferences. My husband was nervous I'd look too made up since I don't typically wear much makeup but he loved it. It lasted all day/night too! My aunt even slept in hers, lashes and all, and it looked perfect in the morning. Not only does she do great work, Marlo is very personable and accommodating.
